December 3 – Moment. Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). (Author: Ali Edwards)

I can still feel the cool, crisp air on my skin. A morning that had started out unbearably cold, gradually made warmer by the bright sun shining down and the physical exertion heating my body from the inside out. Up ahead of me, I see them before I hear them. The large crowd of people, some who had labored much like me and some who were there for support. The closer I get, the sounds get louder. The clapping. The encouraging words. Just what I need to push my rubbery feeling legs through the last few steps. Thud, thud, thud on the heavy pavement. The Tulsa downtown skyline in my sideview as I cross under the word I love to see the most. Finish.
