I don’t know, but I’ve been told, if you ain’t busy livin’, then you’re gettin old

Remember that framed cork board that I got on sale yesterday?

I used it to make this.

Well, first, I nailed the back of the cork board on to fix the problem that it had. It took me approximately 3 minutes (well worth the 27 dollar discount).

Those are fortune cookie fortunes.

See.

My roommate and I (and our former roommate) always save our fortunes. At our old apartment we stuck them on the fridge. This led to them falling on the floor every time you opened it. When we moved into our new apartment, we stuck them in a bag and brought them with us. We decided a few months ago that this is what we wanted to do with them, but just have never done it. It’s done now! It just needs to be hung up.

I am totally not a crafty person. I wish I was. My mom makes things and sells them at craft shows. My older sister is really crafty. My younger sister is even crafty. Not me. Maybe one day I will find something that I can be crafty with. Now when it comes to doing hands-on projects? Sign me up! I put together all of my furniture for my apartment. I can do that kind of stuff. Just not trying to make things pretty. So my decorating project included push pins. 🙂

I had the chance to relax most of the day yesterday after my 5 mile run. I watched a little Netflix and then went for another run. That’s right…I got and itch to go running again, so I walked over to my apartment’s fitness center and ran another 3 miles. I needed that additional mileage and calorie burning to prep me for the night.

I went to a friend’s 30th birthday party last night. It started at the Hard Rock Casino. We ate at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill. I ended up ordering a salad and only grabbed a few cheese fries. I was proud of my good choices. Then came the beer…Throughout the course of the night I had about 5 or 6. Those calories add up! But I had fun. And we did a little dancing, so surely I burned off some calories there.

Confession time…I don’t dance. As in, I feel completely uncomfortable and awkward when it comes to dancing situations.

But we went to a dance place and I stepped out of my comfort zone and attempted to participate.

I’m sure I looked as awkward as I felt. But I’m also sure I couldn’t have been the most horrible dancer out there.I’m pretty sure the 70 year old man out on the dance floor might have had me beat though.

Here’s the real killer…when I drink, I eat. And I decided it would be a good idea at 2:30 to eat McDonald’s fries and a smoothie. Yeah…not my brightest moment. But we’re all entitled to those, right?

I’m gonna really have to get back on tracking my points these next few days. I don’t have to weigh in this week because I’m on my six weeks of maintenance and I only have to weigh in 2 of the weeks, but I still don’t want to have gained a bunch this week.

The downsides of going out and not getting home until 3am?

My puppy had to be by himself most of the day.

I’m pretty sure he’s not loving me right now.

And also, I overslept and missed church this morning.

But I’m glad I went out and enjoyed myself. As much as I am a homebody and enjoy staying in and going to bed early (and I do, sadly), it was a lot of fun.

sounds like a super fun time…and when you know some of those late night choices are ahead of you, working out extra hard and going light on dinner sounds like you were totally on the right track! I used to be self conscious dancing too, but that is because I have no moves haha. I decided a long time ago that it is way too fun to dance with friends to worry about how I looked…and to just enjoy it! Sounds like you did too!
