February Foodie Pen Pals

It’s time for another Foodie Pen Pal Reveal Day.

I really love this program and was so excited to get my box in the mail this month. Betsy from A Dancer in the Kitchen sent me my box of goodies this month.

Betsy was so thoughtful with her box. She sent Salt from the Great Salt Lake, Blueberry Honey and Honey Popcorn from Utah (where she’s from), Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter, Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Tortilla Chips, Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds, a Halo Bar, and a Pro Bar.

I got a ton of stuff!

I haven’t had a chance to try everything yet, but let me tell you about what I have tried.

The chocolate covered sunflower seeds were gone the first night. I love them, but never buy them for myself.

The Halo Bar was a really good snack.

I love love loved the tortilla chips. I am not even a huge chip person, but they had really great flavor!

The blueberry honey is so good! I had it on biscuits and could have kept eating it. Luckily, I have some left.

The honey popcorn was really good too.

I haven’t tried the almond butter or the pro bar yet, but I am sure they will be great too. Thank you so much Betsy!

If you’re interested in participating in Foodie Penpals, here is some info.

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

If you’re interested in participating for March, please send  an email to  theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
WHETHER YOU ARE A US RESIDENT OR CANADIAN RESIDENT. – this is SUPER important so you get on the right list!

You must submit your information by March 4th as pairings will be emailed on March 5th!

    oooh choc covered sunflower seeds would be dangerous for me too!

      I know! I even did the Weight Watchers points on them and still ate the whole thing in one night! That’s why I can’t buy them for myself!

    Blueberry honey sounds HEAVENLY…and I can’t buy chocolate covered sunflower seeds either…WAY too addictive……

    Yum… those sundried tomato and basil chips look great. I haven’t seen that brand yet.

    I’ve never even seen chocolate covered sunflower seeds before, but they clearly get 2 thumbs up so I will have to keep my eyes open for them!
